Thank you for coming to our website! This is any early work in progress, but the intention is to have a pretty functional web site that contains a bunch of stuff relevant to our friends and family - photos, stories, ideas, news and information!

Christmas Message

Well, by any measure this has been a big year.

We moved to Balhannah in the South Australian Adelaide Hills after Shane finished his PhD. He now has a job with DSTO as a research scientist which he really enjoys. Why Balhannah? It’s close to one of the few good churches in Adelaide and is less than an hour to DSTO. Unfortunately, it means we need to live on a 100 acre vineyard in a large farmhouse—oh well can’t win all the time.

We have four chickens giving us eggs and laughs, and about 20 fruit trees which are about to give us a bucket load of plums and stone fruit—and apples later… The kids love living on the farm—Liam in particular loves being in charge of the chickens—I don’t know how many times we’ve caught him sitting around with a chook under each arm! They all have bikes which they don’t ever seem to get tired of riding—

In truth, it has been a tough year—it’s a big change and not having friends and family around has made it even more so. I think we’re ready for a holiday! And what would we give for a decent Vietnamese Takeaway!!! Its also been more expensive than we thought—we needed two “new” cars and some new furniture—somewhat of a stretch. Things are settling down though—we’ve made some good friends here at church, and we’re all making a contribution— Leanne is running the Bookshop and Recorded Music show, Shane plays Bass regularly and is running the Trinity Hills website (www.trinityhills.org.au), and Liam helps out a lot with packing up and the sound desk. Sonya plays the role of “beautiful princess” to everyone elses delight—personally, we’re scared of what she’ll be like as a teenager. Rohan goes around quietly and seems to have collected more friends than there are people living in the hills.
